Bends for Window Frames

We are always pushing the boundaries in terms of what is possible in aluminium section bending. One of these boundaries is how tightly you can get bends for Window Frames, especially when powder coated.

We have pushed the limits on the record of the tightest aluminium bend. One of our best results was getting a 65mm powder coated section to an inside radius of 165mm.

We did this on a section without causing any visible damage to the pre-coated surface finish. We have even had great success in bending profiles treated with a wood finish effect with no damage to the surface.

Pushing this boundary allows us to offer some of the tightest curved window frames in the business. At an affordable price and to a great lead time.

Technical notes

With the Bends for Window Frames there is a minimum radius the profile will bend to before the geometry of the section falls outside the acceptable tolerance for the extrusion.

We have variable centre machines which enable differing tool sizes to be used. Most importantly this gives the bend plan width to bend centre ratio for the section. If this bending ratio is not optimised, crushing of the section will occur. Our machines are also all servo electric which enables all the rolls to rotate at exactly the correct speed. Instead of using a slip clutch or fixed speeds like most other machines.

Investment in quality manufacturing

Over £1,000,000 has been invested this year on specialist aluminium extrusion bending machines. This enables our bends to be the best available quality.

Window systems formed

Alubend can form all window frame systems. We have a standing stock of common window system tools. Additionally, with new shapes of aluminium window frames being released weekly we don’t always have the tool. Our In-house CNC machining enables us to react quickly to orders for new sizes.
